Re-auto number

I imported record numbers into an auto number field. Now every time I view
that field (always!) I get an error message telling me that the data is
incorrect.

Can I re-number the records?

You could try copying the record numbers to another "new" field and then
removing the auto number field.

Don't start a post with "Re" That's reserved for Replies.

You'd be better off to delete the records at fault and then re-import
without the record number field.

I guess my education/experience is lacking. I thought that Access
would refuse to import records with non-null data in the Autonumber
field.
