Re-create the address book

G

Godfrey Nicholson

I am running Outlook 2002 and recently had to reformat my
drive and reinstall and copy back applications and data.
This included my outlook.pst which I linked back to the
new copy of Outlook.

The contacts are all there but there is no address book. I
eould have thought that there has to be a way to get
Outlook to re-create the address book from the contacts
list. How is this done? Is it, in fact, able to be done?

Any help would be appreciated

What do you mean you "linked back" outlook.pst?
Had you simply reused outlook.pst, your address book would be intact.

Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book. If it is not listed, back up one step
and add it. If it is, then click on Change. to make sure the Contacts
folder(s) you want to display are listed. You may need to enable the
Contacts Folder as an e-mail address book by R clicking the Folder >
Properties and check the "Show this folder as an E-mail address book" box.
Make sure you restart Outlook after making these changes.
