Re-downloading messages from POP3 server

i have Outlook 2003 set up to download messages from a server but
to leave them on the server. i noticed when i deleted the messages
from Outlook and tried to download the messages again, only new
mesages would download new messages. it would not download
messages that were previously retrieved.

i scoured the newsgroups and they mention something about a UIDL
that prevents the same message from being downloaded again.

my question is there a way in Outlook 2003 to force the program to
retriev all messages from the server even though they were previously
downloaded. i could not find a way in the options to allow this or to
reset the "state" so that it could be done.

BTW, the same thing happens in Outlook Express.

For outlook you could create another profile... See if
http://www.insideoe.com has the information on how to reset it in OE.
