Re-install an upgrade

Is it possible to re-install upgrade software? I installed MS Office
Proferssional 2007 from an Upgrade CD. Now I am having trouble with certain
functions in Word and I want to re-install it.

When I insert CD 1 of the upgrade and click on Setup, I get - Setup is
preparing the necessary files. However, I then get a message that Setup has
stopped working and then a box stating A problem has caused the program to
stop working corretly.

I am using Windows Vista.

I would suggest uninstalling all versions of Office and staeting from
scratch.

But my question is, if I uninstall MS Office Professional. how will the
upgrade disk react when I go to reinstall? Will there be anything there for
it to recognize as an old version?

If you are currently using the update, you must have a qualifying product.

It may ask you to insert the CD for the qualifying product. So, if your
qualifying product is, say, Office 2003, you may need to stick that Office
2003 install disk in long enough for the 2007 upgrade installer to recognize
it. But you don't have to have Office 2003 actually installed.

I think that is what you're asking, anyway.

That is what I was asking. However, I didn't keep the discs for the
previous versions of Office. Only have the upgrade disc.
