re install Office XP

Donna

I am having a problem with Access requiring a password -
see below. I have been told that the only way to stop it
is to uninstall XP & to reinstall it again.

If I do that, will I lose all of my files in Excel, word,
outlook etc?

I have never used Access before & I have purchased a
program called "ezebase" that will help me with my buying
& selling on eBay.

I can go into Access & it doesn't ask for a password but
when I go in via this program it is asking for a
password.

I have checked with the developer, who has been helping
me with this problem, and he advised me that there is no
password required. It comes up as Administrator for the
Logon screen.

This is the link that I have installed.

I have tried everything possible including repairing
Access but to no avail.

Firstly if you cross post, by entering both ng addresses, separated by a
colon, in the address box we could all follow all the responses.
1) If you uninstall Office you do not lose any user created data files
2) You can choose to modify the installation and uninstall Access only, and
reverse to reinstall.
3) If you are able to start Access normally that would tend to indicate that
all is OK with access, however if you get a password box when using this app
it would appear to be some anomaly when using this.
Your link gives an error page
The default Access password box, does not, from my recollection show any
administrator login msg.
The Administrator login box sounds more like a Win logon msg box.
Have you tried entering yr Win Administrator password? it may be blank i.e.
empty, if you didn't set one.

A final thought; its allmost certain that the 'ezebase app' is trying to
'runas' under the administrator account.
The password required is thus yr win administrator password, and is nothing
to do with access/office.
