Re-install upgrade version

The computer one of our Office 2000 upgrade versions was
installed on crashed requiring a new computer. We now
want to install Office 2000 on the new computer but the
upgrade version won't let us. I no longer have the
previous full version of Office 97. How do I install the
upgrade version without the previous full version?

you must have the upgrade version's disk, that is the purpose of the setup's
validation. If you've lost it, contact MS to find a solution. See phone
