I have been having problems with Autoupdate, so I have removed Office 2004 and re-installed it. I can no longer get any of the downloaded updates to work. I have repaired priveliges etc many times. I have done the re-install twice now with the same problems. The updaters do not seem to be able to find the Office programs, which are in the Applications folder. Does anyone have a cure for this. Many thnaks

I have also tried to update by creating a new user and then installing Office 2004, but still cannot get any of the update to identify the applications. The main stumbling block appears to be the inability to install the Autoupdate 1.1.2 update. This is the first update recommended the Autoupdate

Autoupdate is an application. Totally separate from the Office applications.
Look in your applications folder. Do you see "Microsoft AutoUpdate".

You can skip Microsoft AutoUpdate, and download manually and install.

Hi Diane,
This was not the problem. I finally tracked it down to a Carbon Framework (CFMApp would not launch)problem, which could not be fixed. In the end I have had to erase my hard drive and re-install the system and Office.
I don't really know why the problem arose in the first place.
