Re-installing Microsoft Office

B

Brian

I work for a school and have about 25 computers with Microsft Office XP
Professional 2003 installed on them. This was not done through volume
licensing - we have 25 individual Office programs installed. The problem is,
there is no record of which disk (and network key) was used to install on
each computer. I need to reformat the harddrives of all these computers and
then want to reinstall Office onto them. How can I do this without getting a
message that the key has already been used?

You can't avoid getting that message. If you do you will need to do a
telephone activation and explain the situation. Maybe you can do all of them
at once, maybe not.

You should not have a problem reinstalling the software as long as you use
an different individual key (if I read you correctly each machine now has a
separate key) for each machine.

If you really want to be safe, you can download and run keyfinder 1.41 to
see what key is currently on each machine (run locally on each machine).

Program is found here http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml

If you happen to have multiple versions of Office installed, this program
will only pull up the latest version. Belarc Advisor
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
will show keys for all installed Office versions.

Thank you for your help. DO you think they will give me a hard time about
doing this?
