Re-Installing Office 2003

I had some problems with Office last week (i.e. missing SKU011.cab
file). I have not been able to locate my Office install cd. It kept
asking for it in order to complete the detect/repair. So, Excel and
Word do
not work and I only get a version of Outlook Express. Since I cannot
locate that cd, I ordered a new OEM MS Office Pro cd. I'm desperate
to work on the Excel files on my laptop.

So my question is: Do I need to uninstall Office 2003 and re-install
with my new copy (since the Activation key will not match)? Or should
I just try to insert my new OEM MS Office 2003, when it requests that
I insert the MS Office install cd?

Thanks for your help...I'm totally lost right now!

Hi D.J.,

See if the information in this article helps:

Basically you should be able to do an Office repair using new CD (as long as the title on the CD is a match for the title of MS
Office 2003 in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel)

The activation isn't tied to a specific CD, only to a specific product and machine configuration.
