I just bought a new computer and need to install my Office Professional on it
- but I can not even get the installer window to come up - I was told that I
can transfer one installation from my old computer to the new one but how in
the world do I do this when I can not even get an installation window to come
up.
Can anyone out there help me - PLEASE.

Your computer may be set up to disallow CDs/DVDs to autorun; that would prevent
the installer from starting.

Put the install cd/dvd in the computer, open Windows Explorer/My Computer,
navigate to the CD and doubleclick SETUP.EXE

You have uninstalled any trial version of Office together with activation
assistant, then rebooted.
You have also updated win on this new PC?
Have you tried any other cd in this PC, and the cd runs?
If you insert the office cd, or is it dvd, then nothing happens, yes?
So if you browse to the cd in explorer is it visible?, and if you double
click on setup, what then?

Is this your own personal PC or does it belong to your employer?
If it's not your own PC, it might be locked down in a way that doesn't permit you to
install software yourself.

Hi again - this is my PC - I just purchased it and am trying to install my
software - old PC has been stripped and is ready to be recycled.

Well now you have me stumped. On the other hand, since it's a new purchase, you'd get
free tech support from MS, so giving them a call might be the sensible next step.
