re-installing on new computer

Thought I would ask here first in case anyone knows for
sure. I purchased Office Proffessional for my son. He
needed it for college. It was installed on our home
computer and I naturally used my name as the owner of the
software. My son has now moved out and he has purchased a
new computer. Can I give him the Office package to install
on his computer? I understand that I will have to cease
using it on my computer and un-install it. But will my son
have problems when he tries to register the product on his
computer? I would think so. What should we expect and
what is the correct way of getting this done?

Thanks, Don

Can anyone help?
I have a similar question. I purchased Office package
and installed it on my desktop. Then I bought a laptop
and I want to install the Office on my laptop. Can I
uninstall the office on my desktop and install a new
copy of my Office on my laptop?

Thanks for the response!

What version of Office? Office STE is a one computer installation package
so you would need to uninstall from the desktop to install on the laptop.
If it is a full retail version, you can install on the laptop in addition to
the desktop, as long as both are used by you but not concurrently.

The simplest way, since you mistakenly registered it in your name, rather
than your son, the user, would be to use the telephone activation method
using the same registration details. ie yours explaining that it was
installed on the home pc now at college you need it on the pc there, and not
at home.
