re-installing PST Files

We're using Outlook 2000, awhile back one of the user's Task Reminders went
haywire, it quit working, we've tried everything but to no look it's look
like it's corrupted. We thought if we switched her computer with another
one she wouldn't have the same problem.
Though I"m not sure if this is true, if I'm saving her orginial pst. file
and trasnfereing it to the new computer will the problem continue with her
task reminders? Is there a way that I can re-install Outlook with a new pst
file. but have her old saved one somewhere on her computer so she can go
back and look up old emails and contacts? Would I even have to switch her
computer?

Are task reminders the only problem she's having? Try starting Outlook once
with the /CleanReminders switch. If you need help using Outlook command
line switches, look here:

We've tried the Clean Reminders switch, in fact I even called Microsoft and
started a file regarding her task reminders. It was of no help, her task
reminders are completely corrupted.
It was suggested re-installing her operating system, but I'd rather switch
her computer before I do it I need to know if the same problem would persist.

You can try starting a new .PST file, then gradually moving her tasks to it
to see if you can find a task that might be causing the problem...

but I have one last question. I can start a new .PST file in her Outlook
and keep the old .PST file in there as well? How do I gradually transfer one
task at a time? I've never done that before.

When you create a new .PST file, it will open as a second set of personal
folders in the user's Folder List (if the Folder List is not visible, click
View | Folder List). You will be able to see both Tasks folders and you can
drag and drop from one to the other.
