Re-Installing

When re-installing I get an error message that states something like
"Ensure file office1.cab is there and that you have access to it." Why would
I get this? I have administrator writes and the file IS there.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry about that. I am installing Office XP version. As for the error
message it says "Ensure file office1.cab is there and that you have access
to it." (Or words to that effect.)

Hi Steve,

I'm still not 100% certain of what you are encountering without an
exact error message. However the "words to that effect" could indicate
you have a problem with the Windows Installer Registry entries.

Obtain the following utility and use it to remove only the reference
to Office. Once that is complete then you'll need to reinstall Office
to point the Windows Installer to your installation CD:

One other thing that might cause the problem is windows is looking for the
office installation files in the place office was originally installed from.
It might be worth putting the CD in the drive office was originally
installed from or if you don't know where it was installed from just try
putting the disc in each CD drive you have. If you can browse to the file
during the instal procedure then try browsing to the cab file. Also make
sure the CDs are clean and can be read.
