RE : Microsoft Excel 2000 has not been started or is not installed. Install and/or start application

Paul Harwood

I am getting this message on two machines

Even though I have un installed and reinstalled Office 2000 pro on both
machines and am able to run all applications OK.

What it is preventing is a .Net application from opening a template from
within the app.

This same error appears for all office applications under SYSTEM
INFORMATION / APPLICATIONS / ANY SUB FOLDER / Summary

Microsoft Excel 2000 has not been started or is not installed. Install
and/or start application then press F5 to refresh.

I feel it a registry corruption, and are not sure where to look, any
advise would be appreciated

From your description I'm not sure, but similar problems can be solved by
making sure that the "Ignore other applications" box in Excel (Tools |
Options | General) is not checked.
