Re-post of Styles sheet problem.

Still have a problem and no resolution. Looking for some more input.
Here's the info from my last post.

* Using FP2003.
* Have a styles sheet set up for all my web pages. On my PC, not yet
published.
* Code in each page's header section is:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styles.css">

* Yesterday, the styles formating quite working in "Design" mode.
* Styles formating displays OK in "Preview" mode and also in different
browsers.

* I looked at the date on my styles.css page and it was modified several
weeks
ago so I didn't accidently change something in the styles page just recently.
* The boxes for CSS 1.0 and CSS 2.0 have checks in them, under the
Tools/Page Options/Authoring selection.

Any ideas??

Clear your browser history and temporary internet files.

Then go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP
Cleaner.
If you're using windows XP download the installer version.
Run the functions that clear the FrontPage Temporary files and the
Cache(*.web) files.

Then see what happens when you open your web site.

Thanks Steve, but it didn't solve the problem.
I did exactly what you said.

One additional point. I do have a back up copy of my Web site and it does
not have this problem so there's something I can compare with.
I hessitate to use lthe back up to replace my working copy, as I have made a
number of changes since last saving to the backup.

Any other suggestions?

We'll Steve, the problem has been fixed, in a very unusual way!
I was working in FP and had about 10 pages open. The pages still were not
showing Style sheet formating in Design mode. I tried to open another page
and got a pop up box that said "FrontPage has encountered a serious error and
must shut down".

I clicked on the "don't send a report" button, FP shut down, then restarted,
and now everything works OK. All pages show Style sheet formating in Design
mode.

Looks to me like there was probably a file containing corrupt information
that was keeping the style sheet from working properly and whatever error I
encountered caused this file to be deleted and a new one created.

Any thoughts from anyone.
Any ideas on which file might have been the problem.
Thanks.

I get this problem occasionally.
Close FrontPage
Use FPcleaner to clear the web cache files and Temporary files
Re-open FrontPage
Cured.
The problem often occurs when either a lot of pages are open, or the
page is previewed and edited multiple times before closed.
