Re-publish a template to Sharepoint

S

Serge

I have an Infopath template that was published to a sharepoint forms
library. When I published the form only 20 out of 30 fields were selected
to create columns in the sharepoint list.

Now I need to add 2 other fields to sharepoint list. So I re-published the
template to the library ovewriting the existing template and I added the 2
fields. The problem is that no values are shown in the columns, but if I
open the Infopath form I see a value in the field.

In order to show the value to the sharepoint list I have to open the form
with Infopath and just save it. There must be another way to do this. I
have over 8000 forms...

Thank's

Serge

Unfortunately not. SharePoint does not have the ability to 'look into' the
InfoPath data and pull out those values.

The promotion is done on save as you've discovered.
If you want to 're-save' all 8000 forms, you can copy them out of sharepoint
(switch to explorer view) then copy them all back.
