Re-Registration Microsoft Office

L

Larry

We have 3 licences Microsoft Office for Mac at work. Unfortunately, I
registered two macs with the same product key.

I was wondering how I could re-register one of the doubles, so that our
three macs all have their unique product key number.

Thanks for your help

I tried to erase the following files, as suggested on the link you provided:

~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Office.prefs.plist
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Registration Cache 11
HD/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office/OfficePID

Unfortunately, when I restart WORD or EXCEL, the "number" is still
there. Strange, it even recreates the 3 files from scratch. What am I
doing wrong?

Yes, Office apps should recreate the files, after asking for your
password.

Did you follow the instructions precisely, i.e.,

1) Close all Office apps (including Entourage) before deleting the files?

2) Empty the trash before starting any Office App?

Yes I did close all the files.

Only Microsoft Office Auto Update was still running in the background.
I'll check it out and keep you informed.
