recently got a message when I opened Word 2002 that it has detected a
significant change in the configuration of my machine and that I need to
reactivate my Word 2002 program to avoid going into reduced funcionality
mode. When I place my Word 2002 upgrade disk into the drive, the Wizard says
it cannot find the WORDRET.MSI program that it apparently needs and that's
that. First of all, there has been no changes to my machine that I am aware
of and second, I was using Word without incidentright up to the error
message. I cannot find a copy of WORDRET.MSI on my hard drive and apparently
it is not on the CD-ROM. I am running Win 2000. Someone on this forum
suggested that I download and run Windows Install Cleanup. I did this and now
my Word 2002 Upgrade installation CD tells me it cannot find an eligible
program on my hard drive and terminates. So, essentially, the Windows Install
Cleanup, cleaned all evidence of Word being on my hard drive away. The folder
is still there as is most of the files, but Word won't load or run. How can I
fix this?
