Reactivation of Office XP

hi,

i recently replaced my nic card in my computer, and then became aware that i
needed to reactivate my windows xp home and my office xp professional. the
reactivation of xp home worked without issue; my office xp pro is now in
reduced functionality mode, and i am still trying to find my install disks.

is it true that i am prevented from exporting/saving my pst files in this
mode? when i search for them in windows xp search, they do not show up.

if i cannot find my disks for the office xp pro, and i choose to uninstall
it, does my current contacts and email get saved to my hard drive? the
reason i ask is that i do have a new copy of outlook 2003 that i am thinking
of installing, but i mainly am concerned about the current state of my
outlook xp contacts and email that exist after my last pst file saving.

if anyone has tips or advice for this problem, please let me know.

thanks in advance...

1) You do not use Import/Export on a pst (the OL data file)
2) Search to include hidden for *.pst (with OL closed) and copy the file(s)
to some location. eg My Documents for a backup.
3) Uninstalling/reinstalling/upgrading doesnt impact on the data files, but
a data backup is allways wise
4) When installing OL2003 it should locate your old data files and use them,
this however is not allways the case. In that case it will create a new OL
unicode pst (which you should do anyway) Then in OL File>Open>Data
File....browse to & open the old data file. Copy data from this to the new
data file (do NOT import) then close (if Req) the old data file
5) OL requires the same version of Word to use as its editor - if you wish
to use Word as editor
