I have borrowed my father's laptop temporarily while I am studying in the UK.
There are some strange problems with it and I think I may need to reformat,
and possibly replace, the hard drive. There are a couple of things I am
confused about:
1. Windows XP Home is an OEM edition, and the key is on a sticker on the
bottom of the computer. The install disk I have is a burned backup copy of
the original OEM recovery disk. Will this work for reinstalling the OS?
2. Office 2003 Pro my father got it through his job; I'm not entirely
certain if it is a volume license or a personal license. If it is the
former, what information do I need to reactivate it? I have the CD and
Product keys, but will I have problems trying to activate it online from the
UK?
3. Generally speaking, will I have reactivation problems since the computer
is intended for a US market and I am using it overseas?
Thanks.
