Read acknowledgment

hello,

system: MS Exchange Server 2003 SP2 (mailbox serverstore), MS Outlook 2003
SP2 (cache mode)
problem: user sends message to exchange recipient intern and extern with
option "read acknowledgment". the read acknowldgments arrive in the incoming
folder. if the sender opens the message from the folder "objects sent" there
is a register "status" in which you see the acknowledgment from the intern
recipient. not from the extern recipient. is this an error in the definition
or made by design?

do you get a receipt back for the external address? if so, does it have the
receipt icon and does it appear to be a normal receipt or plain text? Maybe
mail servers munge the receipt so outlook can't process it correctly.
