Read and Deleted Emails are Going to Trash and Becoming "UnRead"

I read an email.

I delete the email.

The email goes to my trash.

Within a minute or two my Trash folder with become BOLD and claim it has one message not read.

I click on the folder and it claims that the message I JUST deleted was never read.

This happens no matter if I open the email or just preview the email. There were times where I'll open and email and read it for a few minutes, leaving it open for a while. Once I delete it the trash always claims that it hasn't been read.

What's up with this?

Sounds like a rule is setting the action.

There are 3 different kind of rules in Entourage:

Mailing List Manager (MLM)
Junk Mail Filter <----there is no setting in this for marking unread
Rules (custom rules you create)

They run in the order listed above. The custom rules also run in the order
they are listed. (top runs first)

I use to see this with some of my IMAP accounts. You're creating two
status messages that your server must recognize: 1.) Message is read and
2.) Message is moved.

You're probably doing this so quickly that your server's not keeping up.
Go into Tools --> Accounts... and double-click your IMAP account. Under
the Options tab de-select "Send commands to server simultaneously" and
see if that helps.

Hope this helps!
