Read only document that is locked

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

When I was working on a PC I copied and pasted some information from a website into a word document and saved it to a USB memory stick. It is a read only document and has somehow become locked. Because it is locked I am unable to trash it. Does anyone know how to unlock it please.

HI Christopher -

Have you tried Control/Right-Clicking the file icon & going into its Get
Info window? Sharing, Permissions & Lock Icon are at the bottom of it.

[Another way to bring up the Get Info window is to select the file icon,
then key Command+I]
