"Read Only" email account?

Will Outlook 2007 allow a second email account with Incoming mail settings
only?

For a variety of reasons I cannot set up a second account that includes
outgoing server settings and I'd like to be able to check an account with
forwarding email all over the galaxy.

I was hoping that just setting up my "two-way" email account as the default
would solve the problem but it doesn't.
