Read only errors

I made a generic user that has read-only permissions. However, if I open one of the forms and the user clicks on one of the fields in the form, it gives me an error when they try to close the form. err 3326, this recordset is not updateable. Is there a way that I should be handling this error? They are not actually making changes, just clicking on one of the fields or one of the buttons.
