"Read-Only" file insanity

I'm writing along in Word '07, saving with no problems, then suddenly my file
becomes "Read-Only" without my permission. When I go outside of Word, or
inside of Word, the file's properties has Read-Only NOT checked. Word just
seems to be tossing it in. Then I have to save it to another file, then
resave it to its proper name.
This is SO very annoying. Is there a fix?
