Read-Only files

mak

My hard drive crashed - got a new one - loaded My
Documents from the CD-RW that I do weekly (and boy, am I
glad!), but now when I open a word file, it says "read
only". How do I get it back correctly?
thanks for your help.

When you place files on a CD they come off as Read only. Go in to Explorer
find the files, select them all, right click and select properties, and
remove the check from read only option. You can also do the same as you try
to open the individual file. Open the Open dialog box, right click select
properties, and remove the check from read only option.

Any file that has been saved to a CD will be read-only. You'll need to
select all the files in Windows Explorer and remove the read-only tag.
