read only files

I recently upgraded to Word 2003. Whenever I save a document that I am
working on it gives me a "read-only" message. This happens all the time when
I save a document multiple times while working. It is driving me crazy! Is
there some way to fix this? This just started within the last 2 weeks. I
have had Word 2003 for about 2-3 months now and never had this problem in the
beginning. HELP!

Although some people who frequently visit this newsgroup operate both in
Windows and Macintosh OSs, this is a Mac Word NG and you will probably get a
quicker response by posting to the microsoft.public.word NG.
