read-only files

In trying to copy files to CD, I get message that folder
is read-only. Help advice: Properties, General Tab,
unmark read-only, Apply, OK, then applying graphic. But
file is still read-only and not transferable to disc.
What am I doing wrong? JT

CD's are read only, unless you have some software that allows
incremental writing.
