Access 2000, Window 2000

I have a database on the server.
I put a short cut on one computer and it is running fine
Putting a short cut on a second computer with the first out of the program
it comes up read only.
I need both to work on the same database

Thank you
Mary Lou

1. All users of the database must have at least read, write, and modify
privileges to the folder holding the database file. Not just the database
..mdb file, but the entire folder.

2. Open the database and go to Tools, Options, and Advanced Tab. Set the
Default Open mode to Shared and the Default Record Locking to Edited Record.
(While you are in the Options area, go over to the General tab and turn off
Compact on Close and Name AutoCorrect. Trust me on this.)

I corrected all the settings on the server database as instructed.
I can pull it up on my computer and the first only okay but the third one is
still read only.
I went ahead and set on her machine and press apply.

The third machine is a brand new machine and wondering if there are
different setting on it?

Double check that all the users have full control, or at least read, write,
create, and delete, for the entire folder holding the database file. Not just
the file, but the entire folder.

Thank you Jerry I am sure your instructions helped but I had two new machines
that the IT didn't set the security level at the same as all the other users
so this was not allowing anything but read-only.

Again, Thank you we are in good shape
