Read only Recommend Disabled

Hi,
I would like to enable the above option in "save as" -->tools -->general
options.
But for some reason the checkbox for it is disabled.
1) How do I enable it?
2) How can I define this option for more than 1 file in one shot? Not going
over file by file and defining it.

Thanks,
Assaf

Hello Assaf,

What version of Project are you using (2003? 2007?). What service
pack? In both Project 2003 and 2007, the option is available. Can
you provide more details about what you are looking at when you see
it as disabled?

The only option I know of without having to open each file
individually in Project, is to set the read-only attribute through
the operating system. You can select several files and then set the
file property (short cut menu) to "read-only". The file is then
opened directly as read-only without the question from Project.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks Julie.
I found out that this feature won't work when I try to save a 2003 format
from my 2007 version.
Regading the second question, I am aware of that option but I need that pop
up. I found a way to save the files using a macro but I still have issues
with all the pop ups when you open the file. I need this process to run
automatically and not have someone press a button for each file. Is there a
way to program a specific automatic choice for each pop up?

Thanks,
Assaf

You're welcome Assaf. For your question about the macro, I suggest
posting a question (including any code you are using) to the Project
Developers newsgroup -- someone there can direct you if it is
possible.
