I have a word rtf file that automatically comes up as read only. I
can't figure out how this was done. Can anyone help?

TIA

Something you can check:

Go to the file through your desktop (open the files that it's located
in so that you're looking at just the file, NOT the file from inside
of word). Right click on the file and select properties. At the bottom
of the properties dialog box (general tab) there is an 'attributes'
section. You have the option of selecting Read Only, Archive, and
Hidden. De-select read only and select archive. Click OK.

This happens sometimes when the file has been saved to CD or disk and
then copied onto the hard drive of a computer.
