Hi
as has been discussed already here for Word versions 2003-2007 I want to
protect my template.dot (the styles, autotext, macros, not the content, so no
forms required) but for protecting the format of a template in Word versions
2002 the advice given is usually to make it read only. What is the best
method for this?
there seems to be more than one eg. from within word, tools > options >
security > read-only recommended, or from Windows explorer, right clicking
the .dot and choosing properties > attributes > read-only.
is this correct ? what are the implications of each method? ie what will
users see when they create/open/save documents made from this template. As
far as i can tell the read-only can be simply "undone" by users, which isn't
much protetction at all. thanks
