I have several databases that I converted from Access 97
to Access 2002. Both the originals and the converted
databases will only open read-only unless I am logged in
as "Administrator". I have check the file permissions for
the relevant users and all seem to have sufficient
permissions (my usual account even has "full controll,"
same as Administrator). The files are not marked to open
read-only and I am (obviously) not explicitly choosing to
open them read-only. There is no user-level security in
the databases.
This has me baffled because it will work when logged in as
Administrator but not as any other account, even if that
account has identical permissions. Could it have
something to do with the fact that the databases are from
an older version of Access?
Thanks!
