Read-Only

I have been using a database for some time and it now
opens in Read-Only mode. I cannot seem to determine how
to get it out of this state. I am looking for some
suggestions, perhaps I've missed the obvious. Thanks.

Hi,

Try this.

Navigate to the database through windows explorer or my
computer. Without opening the database right click on it
and select properties from the drop down list.

In the general tab, towards the bottom you will see
Attributes - Uncheck the read only box.

This often happens when you copy a database to a CD then
onto another a computer. I do not know if this is your
case or not.

Hi Julie,

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it, but unfortunately
the Properties shows the Read Only unchecked. The
database still opens with a Read Only status. It is
interesting that you mention that this might happen after
a copy. I moved all of my files to a new computer and
this may be the result.

Any further thoughts are most welcome.
