Read out last number, count up and set textfield

Hi Newsgroup!

I've got another question concerning Infopath.

I want to add a new Program to a CD Database via Infopath. The CD db
consists of only one table in SQL (number, cdname). Because the number is
the unique identifier I want to have that textfield set and displayed
automatically.

I tried several statements (max, count, ...) to set the number textfield in
Infopath, but I can't get it to work.

Hopefully somebody can help me!

Hi,
I'm not a SQL person so I cant use the right terms, but the DBA on my
project setup a field in SQL so that it will automatically generate the next
available number when the Infopath form is submitted.

If you setup your id field this way in the DB you dont have to do anything
special in Infopath.
