Read receipt in Entourage and mail

How do set the delivered and read receipt in Entourage and Mail? So that we will be inform whether the email recipient have received and read email that we sent. Outlook can do this.

How do set the delivered and read receipt in Entourage and Mail? So

read email that we sent. Outlook can do this.

Go to Tools --> Accounts... and double-click your account.

Under the Options tab add these two headers:



Read Receipt:

Header
Disposition-Notification-To

Value
Your E-mail address



Delivery Receipt:

Header
Return-Receipt-To

Value
Your E-mail address



You can not do this for individual messages although you could create a
second send-only account (a new account with the same information except
that you add the headers and exclude it from your Send & Receive
schedule) and use that for sending only when you want to use the headers.

Any kind of receipt notification whether it's a delivery receipt or a
read/return receipt is still unreliable because you can't guarantee the
receiving server will respond to RRTs nor the recipient will respond to
DNTs in all cases.
