Read thumbnail pane in Word 2003

The read thumbnail pane at the left of a word document keeps popping up
all the time . This started a few days ago and I cant find where to
disable this particular pane.

Any advise will be appreciated, especially if it works...

Hi Joseph

View > Thumbnails toggles the thumbnail view on and off.

Hi Shauna, thank you for the information. Yes, it appears that this was
the problem and everything seems to be fine now. (It was for a friend, I
asked, so time will tell....)

Note: Word Help, using the word key word thumbnails, does not find
anything useful...
