Reading Pane is GONE!

Greetings! I am using OL2003 on XP SP3. The Reading Pane has suddenly stopped
working in the Inbox and Contacts. It is greyed out in the View Menu;
therefore, I can't restore it there. I have done a Detect and Repair with no
success in restoring it. I have also tried the /cleanviews switch to start
Outlook as suggested by Milly Staples (MVP). I'm out of suggestions in my
toolbox and need your help. What is causing this? How do I fix it? What sorts
of things might be add-in culprits causing it? Thanks in advance!

Does it work in other folders?
Does it work when you start Outlook in Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

Thanks much for your suggestion! I just had a chance to give it a try and by
golly in safe mode the Reading Pane in View was suddenly available again. I
restored everything to where I wanted it in Safe Mode then opened OL
regularly. I'm not sure what I've learned, though, nor how to fix it as
Reading Pane is once again unavailable when I start OL regularly. Any further
advice? Again, thanks!

If it works in Safe Mode but not in normal mode, it's very likely that an
addin is causing you these issues.
Disable them all and see if it works now. Then enable them one by one to
find the culprit.
