Reading Pane won't "stay" off, I have to turn it off daily

Hello --
I'm using Outlook 2003. I know how to do View/Reading Pane/Off, and I know
it has to be done on my folders individually, but every day and sometimes
several times a day when I click on folders, the reading pane is back on. I
can turn it off again, but so far it's never stayed "gone". Can someone
advise?

Hello Diane --
Thanks for the quick reply. When I typed "outlook /switch" in the command
prompt, I got a popup that said "The command line argument is not valid.
Verify the switch you are using." I'm not sure how to continue.

are you typing outlook /switch or outlook /nopreview?
