ReadOnly Password

When a save a file in Word 2000 but saving it in Txt format (by choosing the
SAVE AS type as Text format) and set the password to open that
file............it's doesn't ask me the password when I open that file.

Test it in ur machine then tell me whether it's happening in ur machine
also..

You cannot password protect a text document. The file needs to be in Word
structure to be able to use the password feature. If you need to password
and send a text file, I suggest that you use WinZip and password protect the
zip file (but the password algorithm isn't very good).
