Reasons to use Project Workspaces rather than home-made SharePointsites

We are hosting Project Workspaces on our EPM server while another
group is hosting SharePoint server at an enterprise level for
organization and team support. I think I know all the obvious
reasons why projects should use the project workspaces (integration
with Project Server, issues, etc.), but I thought I would call on my
friends to throw out any sales pitch they would use when faced with
this same sort of thing (i.e., "Why can't I just use SharePoint?
"It's just SharePoint", etc.).
