Reassign or rename a category in Outlook 2003

I would like to change all my tasks & contacts that are in a particular
category to a new category. I know how to create a new master category & I
know how to view everything by category & then drag the old to the new.

What I can't figure out is an easy way to delete the old category in each of
the tasks & contacts, even though it doesn't exist in the master category.
Can anyone suggest a way...other than opening each contact & task & manually
deleting the old category?

That's very easy with Category Manager, for the download see the link in my
signature.

From the new toolbar, click the first button, then File/Select Folder, and
open the concerned folders. In that view, if you right click items and drag
them to another category, you can decide whether to copy or move the items.

Select all the entries you wish to recategorise, then right-click the
selection and choose Categories. Make your changes.
