Reassign the license to a different device OEM vs retail?

Hi

I'd like to check that I understand the license terms correctly for Office
Pro 2007 and would appreciate your confirmation or any corrections.

My question specifically relates to reassigning the license to a different
device.

1) Is it correct that the RETAIL product license may be reassigned to
another PC i.e in the event of hardware failure?

2) Is it correct that the OEM product license cannot be reassigned to
another PC even in the event of hardware failure.

If 2 is correct then I presume that the product cannot be reactivated and
therefore will remain unusable?

Given that the software is expensive I dont want to invest in a limited life
lemon.

Thanks for your time.

1) Yes, but you can also simply uninstall on one PC thats still ok to
install on another. Different retail licences may also allow the installtion
on several PC's

2) Dies with the original PC, though replacing a failed mobo has different
interpretations.
