Reboot after Office updates

O

Olivier

Dear All,

I’ve created a script to install a number of MS Office updates manually (in
stead of WSUS). Is there a switch to reboot the system after installation of
the updates (like /forcereboot after a WinXP update)?

Thanks in advance,

Olivier

Hi Olivier,

What exact method are you using to deploy - Ohotfix or Msiexec or other?

Thanks

Hi Olivier,

Thanks for the response.

Running the patch .exe's in succession would of course call the embedded
OHotfix.exe's in each patch and there would not be a way to force a reboot
at the very end. For Office 2000, XP, and 2003 multiple updates, we
recommend using OHotfix; the information can be found at

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ork2003/HA011364081033.aspx

You can extract the .MSP's, place them all in one folder, and simply have
the script run <path>\ohotfix.exe and the RebootInQuietMode=1 can be set in
Ohotfix.INI to force a reboot if it is required. The full details are
provided in the .INI file.
