Rebuild Entourage Database

C

ColeyDSapphire

My entourage quit and now evenr time I got to open it it gives an error
stating:
"Entourage cannot access your date. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild
your database" I hit ok to rebuild and when I try typical (and then advance
when that doesn't work) I get the same error "Compacting failed a read/write
error has occurred (-40)" ...once it fails with both tries then an error says
"Rebuilding failed. It is likely that your database cannot be repaired"

Is this true?! Please help!

I just want the file and am open to swithcing to another email program (Mac
Mail or whatever) just to recover the emails and folders. I can see where
the database file is saved in the main identify application folder...but
can't open it.

Hi Coley,

You may want to use the link below to also post in the MS Entourage discussion group. Be sure to mention the version of Entourage
you're using when posting there.
