Rebuilding failed hard drive; MS Office Std. 2007; key is incorrec

I have the full MS Office Standard 2007 with the correct key. This is the
second time a hard drive has failed on me. I installed this before, but now
it says "THE KEY IS INCORRECT. VERIFIY THAT YOU HAVE THE CORRECT KEY, AND
THEN RETYPE IT." This is nuts. I have the correct product that I paid for. I
have the right key which was read with good light (ref from another post) and
double checked by a second person, so it was entered correctly.
This is a clean install of Windows Vista on a new hard drive, so no "trial
version" is involved. Ok, so what's my next step?

Visit your version of Add & Remove Programs -- this utility changed after
XP -- and remove the Free Trial Version of Office, and the Activation
Assistant, then see if you can load your Office CD.

The Free Trial comes with Vista. Are you sure you don't have it?

I agree. If there is no Free Trial to Uninstall, the phone is the next place
to go.

Visit your version of Add & Remove Programs -- this utility changed after
XP -- and remove the Free Trial Version of Office, and the Activation
Assistant, then see if you can load your Office CD.

The Free Trial comes with Vista. Are you sure you don't have it?

Jeff, a free trial of Office DOES NOT come with Vista. It may be included
in the rebuild programs from different manufacturers but if you have a
retail version of Vista you will NOT get Office trial installed.

And the Add/Remove in Vista and later is called Programs and Features.
