Open the live/remote site directly in FP and run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks.

Im not sure how to do this. Could you please describe to me in detail how to
go about it. I use FP extensions to send my site to my host 1and1.co.uk. I
also have access to smartFTP but use that rarely.

I have minimal experience with downloading remote web to alter it.

Hope you can help

thanks david

Open FrontPage.
Click: file > Open Web ( or open site depending on your FP version )
In the address bar at the bottom of the dialog that opens, enter the http://
address of your web site and click OK
Enter you username and password when prompted, click OK and your site will
open in FrontPage.

Note: using ftp to publish to a site with extensions will break the
extensions, which will require your host to repair / re-install them.
