Recalculation

Mark

I have just started using XP on a brand new P4 machine
and so far Excel sux.

I might be missing something so I thought I'd ante this
up.

I have a number of large spreadsheets that use multiple
VLOOKUP command on data in 10 worksheets to sumarise
hours and materials data. 2000 chugged away, but when I
made a change to a cell that only had, say, one vlookup
command testing is from another worksheet is quickly
recalculated only that formula effected. In XP is seems
to recaculate the whole bloody file and takes a long time
each time. Even if I work in a sheet that doesn't have
vlookup testing any of the data in it, Excel XP
recalculates for 5 minutes.

Anyone with any ideas on this one?

Thanks.
Mark.

Hi Mark,

have you saved the file using XP? (Xp recalculates files saved in previous
versions)

G'day Charles

Thanks, but I've tried that.

It just wants to recalculate the entire sheet as soon as
I even look at it, very frustrating.

Any other thoughts?
