Recall a message that recevied an auto-reply.

I have the following problem:

I sent an email to a co-worker (on an exchange server) and received an
out-of-office auto reply. The reply included the date that he will be back in
the office.

Because the issue in the original email will no longer be a concern when he
returns I wanted to recall the message.

My question is: Since I received (and opened) the auto reply does this count
as him having read the message as far as recall is involved an d will the
recall be successful?

The message won't be marked read by OOF, so its worth trying the recall. it
may not work until he opens outlook - but if he's using owa or a handheld
device it might be read.

Try it and let us know if it works.
